We have completed most of the projects we had in hand and are now looking for ne opportunities. A couple of improvements to the workshop are in te offing and we are tlking to local organisations about their needs. Watch this space!

At the same time we have been working on a couple of private commissions, including this wine-stopper display rack, and a few small items made of wood which will soon be available to buy. Here is an example of a 'Truggle'. Look out for squirrel feeding boxes, bird feeders and other really useful stuff!

The plaque for the Queens Platinum Jubilee Tree

We did not actually make the brass plaque for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee Tree. (That was done by a professional who knew what they were doing!) We did make the backing and stand for it using some scrap wood we had been given. A friend of the shed identified this as "Purple Heart Wood". This, as we discovered, is very hard stuff to work on! Look it up.

We have completed a batch of three bat boxes to the specification published by the RSPB on their website. They are made with British Western Red Cedar which is naturally durable, green timber. Which means it isn’t treated, as the natural tannins in the wood offer it protection.

We have completed a batch of crosses for Brading Town Trust which are to assist the readers of the new book "A Walk Through Brading's Tranquil Churchyard" as many of the gravestones are unreadable through exposure to a few hundred years of Brading weather!
